Civil Rights - The U.S. Constitution

Americans are blessed with rights that are the envy of people around the globe. We consider it one of the noblest callings of our profession to be able to do our part in the struggle to preserve our Constitutional rights, whether it's protecting freedom of speech, separation of church and state, due process, or equality under the law.  To that end we consider it a professional obligation to represent the free speech rights of organizations and individual with views we might personally despise.

We handle civil rights lawsuits that involve:

  • Freedom of Speech
  • Freedom of Religion
  • Separation of Church and State
  • Invasions of Privacy
  • Due Process violations
  • Equal protection
  • Excessive government interference on the use of private properties
  • Students' rights
  • Wrongful Arrest
  • Police Brutality

In his law suit against the City of Coral Gables, Mr. Kuvin labored for five years to get the courts to recognize the City's discriminatory zoning code as unconstitutional. In November of 2006, Mr. Kuvin, a third year law school student, presented his case to a three judge panel at the Third District Court of Appeal in Miami Florida. Nine months later the Court published a 48 page decision which held that Mr. Kuvin was indeed correct and that the City's prohibition against the parking of personal use pick-up trucks in the city overnight was unconstitutional and punished diversity.

Wrongful Arrest and the Unnecessary Use of Force are just two of the many areas of Civil Rights that Mr. Kuvin takes a special interest in litigating. Contact our office as soon as possible to discuss any possible police transgressions.
